one of the policies that portray good governance is the system of Edusave Scholarship that exists in Singapore. It is a policy that rewards students for their achievements in their academic studies. students are awarded a certain amount of money, depending on how well they fair among the cohord.
this system of meritocracy shows how the government rewards the citizens for the efforts and achievments, and thus is an encouragement to everyone to do well.
i feel that such policies are neccessary as it lets the citizens have goals to work towards to and a sense of accomplishment. it will also encourage them to put in the extra effort into their studies and jobs which eventually will benefit the whole nation as individual progress will add up to a significant boost to the economy, due to an increase in efficiency in the workforce.
Therefore the implementation of such policies of such policies should be strongly encouraged so that both citizens and the economy can benefit. :)
